All of which is nestled amid the lush countryside of the 80km Escambray Mountain Range.

This jungle-shrouded area is located roughly halfway between the popular tourist towns of Trinidad and Cienfuegos, however there are no public transport options to reach it – making it almost impossible to visit independently. Instead, take a day trip from one of the neighbouring towns and visit the area as part of an escorted tour with a handy guide.

Whilst you’re here, meander along the many walking trails where you’ll pass the cascading falls and stop for a refreshing dip in the swimming hole, fringed by swaying palm and banana tree foliage.
