On 11th February 2026, the UK Foreign, Commonwealth & Development Office (FCDO) advised against all but essential travel to Cuba due to temporary fuel shortages on the island, largely linked to the ongoing US embargo and the developing situation in Venezuela.
We understand that many customers with upcoming bookings may be concerned and are seeking clarity on what this means for their holiday.
Please be assured: Love Cuba remains fully operational, with an experienced local team on the ground, trusted hotel partners and reliable transport arrangements in place.
As the FCO advice is current and may change at any time, we are currently prioritising customers travelling within the next 14 days. If your trip is scheduled for a later date, there is no immediate action required and we will contact you in due course. Below are the options available to you:
1️⃣ Postpone Your Trip
You may choose to move your holiday to a later date of your choosing.
We are offering flexible postponements so you can travel when you feel more comfortable.
This is the simplest way to protect the value of your booking while giving yourself peace of mind.
2️⃣ Rebook to Another Destination
If you would prefer to travel elsewhere, we can help.

FCO guidance notwithstanding, it is possible to receive medical insurance for your stay in Cuba – our team can share details of this with you.

4️⃣ Credit Note or Refund
If you feel you no longer wish to travel, you may request:
- A credit note to use on a future booking, or
- A refund (this would apply to bookings travelling within 14 days, whilst FCO guidance is still in place)
